Save The Parish in Parliament

Of all the institutions discussed when talking about the Church of England and its present issues, parliament is not one that usually comes up.
Many believe that whilst the King is the Supreme Governor, the CofE is otherwise independent. This is not so.

EVENT 2: MPs & SUPPORTERS
Thank you to all those who attended our meeting on April 25th 2023. We had 35 MPs and Lords on the evening to hear why the rural parishes are worth saving.
Admiral Sir James Burnell-Nugent addressed MPs and supporters on whether parish mergers and cuts to parish clergy are financially necessary.
A talk was also given by Professor Canon the Rev. Alison Milbank on why it is worth saving the valuable work that rural parishes do.
Both these talks and their slides can be found by following the links below:

EVENT 1: LAITY & SUPPORTERS
Thank you so much to all those who attended our inaugural Save the Parish in Parliament meeting. Our speakers did a great job of outlining the problems parishes face, the finances behind the scenes, and how parliament can help us change the tide.
