DT letters: The government should intervene to stop the decline of the CofE

Ian Graham thinks that the repeal of the Act of Supremacy would allow the CofE to be reformed and allow the Bishops to focus on their core role of supporting parishes rather than acting as an unelected political lobby. Revitalising the institution would allow our Christian heritage to be maintained.

Donald Clarke suggests that reducing the bloated bureaucracy of the dioceses and getting the bishops and 980 odd desk bound clergy back into the churches would go a long way to solving the Church’s problems.
